The buzz is real, folks! Mick Schumacher might be back in F1 sooner than we thought. Here’s the scoop!

  • Helmut Marko reveals Alpine and Audi are eyeing Schumacher for a 2025 seat.
  • Schumacher is racing in WEC but hasn’t been in F1 since 2022.
  • Marko highlights Schumacher’s impressive track record and potential.
  • Schumacher is patient but hopeful for an F1 return.

Helmut Marko has dropped a bombshell: both Alpine and Audi are “seriously considering” adding Mick Schumacher to their F1 rosters for 2025. This is huge news for the former Haas driver, who has been competing in WEC after leaving the F1 grid in 2022.

In a conversation with F1-Insider, Marko spoke highly of Schumacher, calling him “one of the politest and nicest people in the entire paddock.” Marko went on to say that Schumacher’s big name might be more of a handicap, yet he has still delivered in sporting terms by winning the Formula 3 and Formula 2 championships.

Marko also discussed how Schumacher was a Ferrari junior and later joined the Mercedes squad, which made it difficult for other teams to engage with him. He mentioned that the young driver was not treated fairly by Netflix superstar Guenther Steiner at Haas. “Once you’re out, it’s difficult. But behind the scenes, you only hear good things about him,” he added.

Toto Wolff, the Mercedes team boss, is also a fan. He praises Schumacher “to the skies.” Both Alpine and Audi are considering him, and Marko believes that Schumacher deserves it.

Mick Schumacher himself has a positive outlook on his prospects. He told AFP, “It is important for me to return to Formula 1 to show what I can do. My chances in Formula 1 seem to be pretty good so far. At the moment, Formula 1 is within reach.”

He emphasized the importance of staying grounded and having a backup plan, but his main focus remains an F1 return. “My plan was always Formula 1; now we have to wait and see what opportunities present themselves to me. I will wait for Formula 1 as long as necessary,” Schumacher said.

The stage is set for a potential Schumacher comeback, and fans are eagerly anticipating what happens next.
