Sebastian Vettel, a legendary figure in Formula 1, tried his hand at an endurance offroad bicycle race in Norway, slipping into the event using a pseudonym to fly under the radar.

Using a twist on his wife’s surname, ‘Sebastian Sprater’, he entered the Offroad Finnmark race. However, his cover was blown when photos surfaced showing the unmistakable champion.

The race, known for its challenging 150km mountain bike course, saw Vettel finish in just under nine hours. He impressively came in 44th out of 184 male participants.

Vettel, who stepped away from Formula 1 in 2022, has been exploring new interests. He tested a Porsche 963 Hypercar this season but decided against racing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

When asked about a possible return to Formula 1, Vettel stated, ‘It doesn’t look like [it]. I think I have a very distinct way of how to do things… I think I’m very much at peace with it and enjoying my new life.’

Sebastian Vettel’s venture into an offroad race showcases his enduring athletic spirit, even as he enjoys retirement from Formula 1.
