Ferrari fans, brace yourselves! The iconic car manufacturer has expedited their development plans to unleash a new aerodynamic package at the Spanish Grand Prix, with a ’99 per cent’ chance of arrival. Initially slated for the British Grand Prix, Ferrari fast-tracked these enhancements after witnessing the success of their first upgrade at Imola.

The first big upgrade proved fruitful for Ferrari, igniting hopes of challenging Red Bull after Charles Leclerc clinched victory in Monaco. This prompted the Italian giant to push their plans forward, aiming to close the gap with Red Bull in the championship race. As reported by Formu1a.uno, Ferrari’s technical office has approved the second aerodynamic package, ready to hit the track in Catalonia. Engineers in Maranello are working tirelessly to refine the car’s aerodynamic efficiency with a focus on improving performance at low speeds.

These forthcoming modifications involve a revamped floor, rear bodywork adjustments, and tweaks to the diffuser’s ramps. Small deflector elements will also receive updates, all of which are anticipated to deliver a competitive edge. It’s a strategy Ferrari hopes will pay dividends during practice sessions on Friday, where the new specifications are expected to become available to both drivers.

Despite the optimistic upgrades, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc has his feet firmly planted on the ground. “I feel like the strength of Red Bull will be more visible on a track like Barcelona,” he admitted. However, he remains hopeful for a strong performance, noting that the competition behind Red Bull will be quite intense. Currently, Leclerc is trailing Max Verstappen by 56 points in the driver’s standings, while Ferrari lags by 49 in the Constructors’ title race.

With Ferrari accelerating their development schedule, anticipation is high for the Spanish Grand Prix. While Red Bull remains the team to beat, Ferrari’s aggressive strategy indicates their determination to challenge for the top. As the weekend unfolds, all eyes will be on the track to see if these updates can deliver the breakthrough Ferrari is aiming for.
