This is after he clinched his best finish for Ferrari this season, snatching fourth place, with teammate Charles Leclerc close behind in sixth.
The weekend kicked off with a disappointing qualifying for Ferrari at their home turf, where Hamilton and Leclerc couldn’t break into the top ten. Yet, Hamilton’s race day performance was a different story. By overtaking Leclerc and Williams’ Alex Albon in the last laps, he climbed to fourth, improving upon his fifth-place finish in Bahrain.
Crossing the finish line at Imola brought out Hamilton’s joy as he praised the car’s performance and the team’s strategy. i“The car felt great today. I’m so grateful, so proud. Grazie tutti. And the Tifosi, that was for them. Let’s keep pushing,” he beamed over the radio, recognizing the Italian fans’ support.
Hamilton’s engineer, Riccardo Adami, praised the bold moves that brought Hamilton closer to the top. With laughing admiration, Adami remarked at the ‘explosive’ overtakes, to which Hamilton eagerly replied, i“Yeah, pushing mate. Pushing.”
Despite not gracing the podium, Hamilton remains determined. His endeavors have yet kept him progressing up the rankings, landing sixth in the driver standings just below Leclerc. Ferrari still holds fourth in the Constructors’ Championship, keeping a close chase behind Red Bull.
Hamilton’s performance at Imola marks a hopeful push for future Ferrari wins as the season unfolds.
