Alpine’s ongoing shake-up in Formula 1 has seen some radical changes, both off and on the track. Recently, the team introduced some significant updates to their car in Belgium, hoping to boost performance.

The rear wing features a flatter leading edge, which is a clear indicator of Alpine’s strategy to trade some downforce for reduced drag. The team’s commitment to innovation shines through with their unique designs, including a thicker profile upper flap, a deeply rounded tip section, and a single-element beam wing. During Free Practice 1 (FP1), the team took these changes for a spin, literally. They doused Pierre Gasly’s A524 in red flo-viz paint to visualize and confirm the efficacy of the new flow dynamics.
